A briar climbs by throwing out leaves in pairs, one after the other, until the whole hedge is a chain of them. That's the shape I followed here.

Every link is a pair of leaves, formed by hand and joined to the next so the necklace bends the way a living stem does - no stiff spots, no gaps, just one continuous vine that settles flat against the collarbone. Each pairing has to be shaped, matched, and hinged before the next can join it, so a single necklace passes through my hands a hundred times before it's done.

People who wear titanium tend not to take it off. I've stopped asking why.
